The recently concluded Wholeness Week at Bhavans Smart Indian School was an all-encompassing initiative that aimed at promoting the holistic development of students from grade 1 to 11. The week-long activities conducted by the different departments were exciting and thoroughly enjoyed by the students.

The reopening day was marked with an emphasis on fostering familiarity and camaraderie amongst the students. The Art and the Physical Education departments organized many interesting games for the students of grades 1 and 2 on their reopening day. The students of grades 1 and 2 were engaged in activities that had a fine balance of creativity and learning. They made captivating caps along with colouring activities with the assistance of their teachers and played an enthralling game of phonics. The students were introduced to their teachers and classmates, and they were taken on a tour of the school’s state-of-the-art amenities. The Middle Wing too had a plethora of engaging and enjoyable games that kept the young minds of students stimulated and entertained.

The students of grades 3-5 were involved in various group dynamics and performing art activities by the Second Language and English teachers. The students recited poetry and sang popular songs in groups which helped them gain confidence and encouraged teamwork. The activities based on group dynamics helped them to understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses and develop a sense of unity.

The senior students were treated to an enthralling experience as they were given a tour of the science and composite labs, where they were educated on the various experiments conducted in the labs. The teachers of the department of Mathematics organized exhilarating Math games that encouraged healthy competition and enhanced the students’ cognitive abilities.

The second day of the Wholeness Week was centered on the theme of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The students were enlightened about the significance of these goals, which aimed to alleviate poverty, protect our planet, and guarantee peace and prosperity for all people by 2030. The students were given the opportunity to explore their creativity as they made posters that beautifully depicted all the goals. The activity was intense, and the best posters were displayed in the corridors. This activity helped to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment and society in our students and teachers and cultivated their awareness of the pressing issues that affect our world today. In conclusion the Wholeness Week was an exemplary initiative by the school to promote an all-around development of our students and a good platform for teachers to get to know the students wholly at the beginning of the year to work with them for their academic excellence.
