Smart Indian School organized the Annual Sports Day 2022 on 5th November with the slogan ‘Body, Mind and Nature’. Bhavans Kuwait Director Shri. Krishnadas Menon was the Chief Guest in the opening ceremony which was presided over by Bhavans Middle East Chairman Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon. Al Nuqba Model School Principal Adil Al Ghazar was the Special Guest. Bhavans Smart Indian School Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Indian Educational School Principal Mr. T Premkumar, Vice Principals, Admin Manager and many other dignitaries participated in the function. The school Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer commented that the motto of this year’s sports day was formulated with the aim of creating a lifestyle based on love for nature along with sports ability and mental strength in the students. In his speech, the Chairman felicitated all the athletes who participated and all the teachers and students who worked hard to prepare the mega event. After hoisting the national flags of India and Kuwait, the national anthems of both the countries were sung. The Chief Guest received the greetings at the March Past. Bhavans Service Scheme – BSS, School Supreme Council and representatives of various houses of students participated in the Grand March Past. The message of the sports day celebration became an indication of the strength and achievements of sports persons of the school. School Sports Captain Master Kevin Manoj lit the sports torch and recited the oath to the athletes. After the keynote speech, the Chief Guest Shri Krishnadas Menon officially inaugurated the sports day. The ‘Mass Drill’ that followed was a beautiful display of the students’ sportsmanship and concentration. Then, various sports competitions held at sub-junior, junior and senior levels enthralled the audience. After the sports competitions of students, special sports competitions of teachers and parents were also staged. At the end of the fiercely contested matches, Sanskriti House became the overall champions and the best marching team. Tapas House became the runner-up. In the spirit of the Olympic motto of ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger, More Together’, Bhavans concluded the Games with a pledge to meet again next year. School Head Boy Ashwant Regan welcomed the fair and Head Girl Janet George gave the vote of thanks. Under the leadership of Vice Principal Mrs. Albin Daisy and Head of Sports Department Dr. Murugayan, sports teachers and other teachers worked hard for the success of this great event. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
