Bhavans Smart Indian School, Kuwait with the purpose of enhancing the personality development of its students to shape their future and tackle difficult situations with ease, organized a session on the importance of values at school and life. The session was led in an efficient and interesting way by an eminent speaker Dr. Kamalak Kannan a specialist on 31st August 2023 at 10. 45a.m in the SIS auditorium. The session was attended and benefitted by students and teachers of grades 6 to 11. The speaker was welcomed by Keith Thomas & Pranav Sriram of grade 9 in the presence of the Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Vice Principal Ms. Albin Daisy, and the KG Supervisor Ms. Rekha Jaypal. The session was coordinated by the School Counselor Ms. Anju Jacob for the holistic development of the students.
In his session, Dr. Kamalak Kannan addressed the importance of values and its unwavering benefits in future that would distinguish one from the other. His presentation highlighted the importance of maintaining personal hygiene during adolescent period, nutritional practices to be strictly followed and how it is crucial for their overall health and well-being. He further proceeded explaining the essence of maintaining healthy relationships as it sets the foundation for their interactions throughout life. He also emphasized the importance of quality relationships with teachers, parents and friends of opposite gender and its positive impact on their social and emotional well-being. Dr. Kamalak Kannan also touched upon the vital parameters of values namely attitude, behaviour, discipline, honesty, respect, anger, and time management. He reiterated, the ethos of these vital elements in the right quantity and quality as pivotal in fostering one’s overall wellbeing, setting priorities, fostering strong and meaningful connections, building trust, and creating a harmonious society etc.
Dr. Kamalak Kannan explained the queries raised by the students to their best satisfaction. His session was applauded and appreciated by the Principal and Vice Principal who recognized his interest and valuable time spent for the benefit of the students and assured the message shared by him would immensely benefit the students to be socially responsible and morally upright individuals in future. He was felicitated with a memento and a thankful note by the students.
