Bhavans Smart Indian School, Kuwait proudly celebrated India’s 76th Independence Day with Tagore’s beautiful prayer, “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; into that heaven of freedom my father, let my country awake.” Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer hoisted the National Flag accompanied by Bhavans Service Scheme cadets Ms.Nifansa and Ms.Aliya  in a simple and proud ceremony which started at 8 o’clock. This was followed by the Indian National Anthem after which the President of India Dr. Draupadi Murmu’s Independence Day message was delivered by the Principal in the presence of teachers. He paid tribute to the patriots who sacrificed their lives for freedom and spoke about the new national education policy that gives hope to the students all over the world. He reminded the student-teacher community that country means people and Janananma means service to the country.

The patriotic dances and music performances by the teachers were heart-warming. The little tribute in the form of dances by the dance teacher Mrs.Vinitha and her team of newly joined staff to the beautiful songs by the music stalwarts of the nation were truly graceful. Similarly some of the best patriotic  songs for Independence Day this year – sung by the Principal Mr.Mahesh Iyer, Mrs.Anjusha and Mr.Ratnesh  reminded us of our earthly blessings such as our freedoms, and songs that call us to gratitude to our God who, in His great mercy, has given us more than what we could ever deserve. Hence the incredible day’s cultural items ignited the spirit of patriotism amongst the elite audience. Following the tradition and custom of  distributing sweet continued as the program came to an end and that increased the energy level of the teachers for the rest of the day. Thanks to the school management and the facebook viewers for imprinting a historical remembrance of the Independence day celebrations!
