Smart Indian School conducted a comprehensive oral hygiene program for grades 3-11 in collaboration with a team of doctors that included, Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Dr. Sumant Mishra, Dr. Mathew Koshy, Dr. Swati Jain, Dr. Sushmitha, and Dr. Vikas. The program was initiated with a warm welcome by Janet George, a senior student of Grade 11, who expressed her excitement and gratitude towards the team of doctors, the Principal, Vice Principal, teachers and fellow students who had gathered for the program. The program aimed to integrate oral hygiene into the teaching-learning process and create awareness about oral health to enable prevention of dental diseases.
The oral hygiene program was conducted for a day, with different sessions for different age groups. The doctors used a range of teaching aids, including videos, posters, and models, to explain the importance of oral hygiene, common dental problems and their prevention. The students were taught the correct brushing technique, flossing, and tongue cleaning, and the importance of regular dental checkups. The program also addressed the importance of a healthy diet for good oral hygiene.
The oral hygiene program was well-received by the students and teachers alike. The interactive question and answer sessions helped the students understand the importance of good oral hygiene and how to practice it correctly.
