Selecting the right career from the array of choices available is the toughest of decision for higher-grade students and parents, to facilitate this proceeding and to make the students feel at ease, an informative career guidance session was organized by the Department of Counselling SIS Kuwait, supported by the Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Sr.Vice-Principal Ms. Anselma Tessy and Vice-Principal Ms. Albin Daisy. The session was coordinated by the School Counselor, Ms. Anju Jacob and the Senior Academic Coordinator Mr. Santhosh Chungath.
A team of experts from the Amity University, Dubai led the session for the benefit of grades 9 and 11 students. Following the welcome note by Ms. Lakshmi of Grade 9 Aries, the session commenced with a brief note by Dr. Ganga who emphasized the students the need to follow their own passion as the steppingstone for their future career success. Moreover, she also urged the students to understand their strength and weaknesses while choosing a subject in higher grades that would pave the way for future triumph, and never to choose any subject out of compulsion. Further she highlighted the need to develop a competitive mindset so that they can focus on their skill development to increase their future employability globally.
Dr. Ganga, listed the various Schools of Business, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Humanities, Arts & Applied Sciences. More clarity on various engineering courses, especially Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Information technology, Computer science were explained to the students in a befitting manner by Dr. Vinod who was present virtually. Ms. Neeti elaborated on the various programs with due emphasis on Psychology and Forensic Sciences. Further the session placed prominence on informing the students the approximate expenditure they would incur if they were to study abroad.
The session conducted with an inspirational note by the Senior Vice-Principal Ms. Anselma Tessy who inspired the students to always go by their goal and to always choose subjects in higher grades based on their academic caliber. Overall, the session was informative, and it gave the students an insight to think of their abilities before making any academic decisions so as to ensure they do their best in all their future endeavors. The team was honoured with mementos and the session concluded with a vote of thanks by Master Kevin Manoj of grade 11Aries.
