It is always the small pieces that make the big picture”

Learning to solve puzzles is a valuable skill to be  cultivated  from childhood . The kindergarten students of Bhavans, Smart Indian School and Bhavans, Jack and Jill Preschool were engaged in a puzzle challenge on the 18th of January 2024 . Every student participated and completed the puzzle at his/her own pace. The children were thrilled to receive the printed puzzles . Since they have been practicing for this competition, they were more than excited to attempt the challenge.

Puzzles build several aspects of visual perception, eye hand coordination, attention span,  problem solving  and  early math skills. The purpose of this competition is to foster these skills in our kindergarteners .

The Pre-KG children build the puzzle mostly through trial and error. The LKG and UKG children matched the pieces based on the information in the picture. The children were encouraged to complete it independently without adult intervention.

Being able to  complete the puzzle is a huge confidence booster for a child. The puzzle challenge  gave our kindergarteners  a sense of competence and achievement.
