“The crowning fortune of a man is to be born to some pursuit which finds him employment and happiness, whether it be to make baskets, or broadswords, or canals, or statues, or songs.” Bhavans Smart Indian School conducted together with a sister concern from the Middle East, a special session on career guidance for the students of Grade 10 on Saturday, 28 November 2020, 10 am by our eminent personality Miss. Divya Rajesh Ramachandran, Director Bhavans Middle East. The event started at 10 am with a welcome address presented by Mr. Thomas Francis, the Academic coordinator, Bhavans Al Saad Indian School, Al-Ain – UAE. Through her own life experience stories, she eased the gathering by making all the young learners understand what a vocation was and how important that was in one’s career. Eventually the session had built a spirit of confidence and she depicted a clear explanation on ultramodern workforce: research, explore and expand. As the future of work is about specialization, 10th graders were given a lot of tips on a complete guide to job specialization to expand knowledge and expertise in a specific area in the future. Students were educated on choosing and preparing for a job specialization that would be more effective in workplaces. She was throwing light on the current scenario of workplace, work habits, and work norms  that are redefined every now and then. Skills are necessary to satisfy each job requirement, so are we aware of our own skills? Having talked about the current scenario, just like taking to her own children, she shared her own life experiences to make all the students put an end to all the confusions and have a clarity of thoughts in terms of career choice. ‘Future depends on what you are today, you are born to win, be determined and strive till the end because career growth takes shape in the form of clear thoughts and ideas’. As the students were armed with the insights from the interactive session, Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Principal of Smart Indian School had wished all the students “A bright future” and thanked the resource person for showing ways and guidance on career choice. The meeting ended at 11:30 a.m. with a quote ‘Work to become, not to acquire.’  The vote of thanks was extended to the resource person  and the organising school by Ms.Caren Ann  from g10. All credits were attributed to  Dr.Bhavna, the Principal Bhavans Al Saad Indian School, Al-Ain – UAE. Much to all our surprise our Chairman N.K.Ramachandran Menon  joined the session and surprised all of us wishing  all students to work harder as there is no substitute for hardwork,  deriving the inspiration from the Director Ms.Divya Rajesh the resource person of the day who works day in and day out for this noble cause of education. Let noble thoughts come to us from every side.
