“Wake up and save penguins before it is too late”

“Penguins are living lessons in caring for the earth and its creatures, in all their beauty and vulnerability.” – Charles Bergman.

The main focus of Penguin Awareness Day is to make the children aware that penguins are beautiful flightless birds unique in many ways.

The kindergarten wing of Bhavans Smart Indian School and Jack and Jill Pre-School celebrated Penguin Awareness Day on 20th January 2022. Our tiny tots came to school wearing black and white dress, just like our black and white feathered friends. The LKG kids enthusiastically made paper collage-penguin and tissue crumbling-igloo, and UKG kids modeled penguins using play dough.

The teachers showed them the video elaborating on their habitat and life. It was a great opportunity for the tiny tots to learn more about penguins, what they eat, how they socialize and the environment they live in.

Children had fun wiggling and swaying to a penguin dance.

With the number of penguins decreasing, Penguin Awareness Day is a great opportunity for children to learn, appreciate and take care of these magnificent creatures.
