Bhavan’s Smart Indian School organized various activities on National Mathematics Day and celebrated it in the memory of the Great Mathematic genius, Srinivasa Ramanujan on 21st December, 2018. The pioneer in Mathematics and a legendary recipient of Fellow of the Royal Society was well honored and remembered through various activities on his birth anniversary. The assembly started off with the magical discovery of the exponent. The sprightly students of grade 3 displayed the magic that comes out with the same total when the numbers in the square are added up from any chosen sides. The students were enthralled seeing the beauty behind numbers and were inspired to try out the same. A short life story of Srinivasa Ramanujan was showed to the students during the first period where they keenly observed the life the extraordinary mind explored in his short span of life. The students of grade 1 were fascinated to colour the picture of this great personality in the field of Mathematics. The students of grades 2 to 9 were given the activity of making collage. The collage heaped huge admiration and applause. The students were energetic to collect and amass his pictures, quotations and famous mathematical discoveries. The time they enjoyed doing it saw togetherness and interest for the great day. Their beautiful works were displayed in the bulletin board to make the viewers be more interested in reading about him. Principal, Mr. Mahesh Iyer appreciated the creative works of the students and urged them to continue the same in all activities.
