KG rejoices on International Family Day at Bhavans SIS
It is said that family is where life begins and love never ends. International Family day is celebrated every year on May 15. This day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993 with the aim to highlight the importance attached to families by the international community. It’s an occasion to celebrate the importance of families, people, societies and cultures around the world.
Healthy familial bonds are some of the greatest boons that parents and elders in the family can pass on to their children. A nurturing environment promoted with love and care helps children to grow up into well-balanced and happy adults. Communication, quality time, appreciation which parents give to their children and in return, love and respect that children give their parents are some of the essentials towards building a strong and supportive family.
Since the world is maintaining social distancing in the current situation, classes have taken the virtual route and so has the celebrations. The Kindergartners of Bhavans Smart Indian school were given an opportunity to express their love and affection for their families on the occasion of “The International Day of Families 2020” which was celebrated during our online classes. Teachers explained the importance of a family and the love and care a family provides us. Children were asked to sing songs on family love and affection. They sang songs melodiously and some of them spoke affectionately about their family. This was followed by an activity where students were asked to draw and colour a picture of their family and thus make a greeting card for them. The session inculcated a feeling of love and respect for the family in their young minds.
Families are the foundation of a society and the most formative and memorable years of our lives are spent growing up with love and affection of our families which was precisely celebrated by KG students by expressing their love for the family.
