Grandparents are the essential members in each family to fortify values, impart discipline, to leave lasting imprints on unconditional love and a beacon of wisdom. Bhavan’s Smart Indian School always strives to integrate values with education and this special day was exclusively set to celebrate the contributions made by grandparents in different phases of life. A special program was organized by the management to honor grandparents of the school. The program served as a special time in the lives of grandparents as they had many memories to carry home. The occasion was graced by Bhavans Middle East Chairman – Mr. Ramachandran Menon, the Chief Guest – Dr. Thomas Idiculla – Director of Mental Health Dept., Mclean Hospital, Boston; Principal of Smart Indian School – Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Vice-Principal of SIS – Ms. Albin Daisy and KG Supervisor – Ms. Rajni Menon.

The special program was kicked off by singing the Kuwait National Anthem followed by the Holy Quran and  English prayer. The lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries along with the chosen grandparents paved way for the strength of parent-management forum. There were many programs that came in parade to highlight the love for grandparents. Beautiful handmade cards were given by the grandchildren to their grandparents that moved the team to shed tears of joy. The same was done by the children of primary wing as well. Reflections done by both grandchildren and grandparents stood tall to experience the love of words through emotions. Dance performance on the stage by the grandparent-grandchild combo left the audience speechless.The most prestigious moment of the day turned to be  the Prize Distribution ceremony where the students who excelled in academics for the year 2018-19 were honored with due recognition.The gold medalists of National Mathematic Olympiad, a forum that sees difference by being different in student’s ability to perceive Math were honored through the acknowledgement in the form of medals and certificates. The Bhavans Scholar Badge and  Bhavans Scholarship received by  few students gained momentum during the occasion. A distinct time was set to make the senior most gathering  to shower blessings on the maiden batch of grade 10 students who will be appearing for their CBSE board exams this year end.

The program carried memorable photo session with the prodigy winners, grandparents and staff. The love that spread around was so vibrant that it illuminated the message-board to scatter the words of blessings and goodwill to the management by the grandparents. The community appreciated the efforts taken by the team of teachers and requested them to incorporate many more such programs in the coming years.
