Bhavans Smart Indian School celebrated Eid and May Day on 28th April at 10:30 a.m.

Eid ul Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of Islamic calendar, at the completion of Ramadan, the Islamic Holy month of fasting. This fast is meant to achieve purity of body and peace of mind. The Eid ul Fitr is a joyous day, it is a true ‘Thanksgiving Day’ for all Muslims.  On this day they show their real joy for health, strength, and opportunities in life.

International Workers’ Day is a celebration of the international movement that

occurs on May Day.

The grand ceremony commenced by singing the Kuwait National Anthem followed by the Holy Quran recitation. The sponsor Mr. Ali Judian Al Rasheedi and the chairman of Bhavans Middle East Mr. N.K Ramachandran Menon were the chief guests of the programme. The school principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer addressed the gathering and conveyed the Eid message.

Eid is a festival of peace, charity and love. SIS joined hands to make it a remarkable day to appreciate and respect the School bus drivers and maids by providing them groceries and food items. The chief guests handed over the groceries to them. These groceries and food items were contributed by the students.

The GCC Bhavans interschool Quran recitation competition winners were awarded with prizes and certificates. Video presentation on the importance on Eid was displayed. The little dancers of the school stole the hearts of the audience with their thrilling performance.

The Vice Principal Ms. Albin Daisy extended her vote of thanks to the chief guests, principal, event coordinators, teachers, student volunteers and parents. She expressed her gratitude to the members of Islamic and General Events department and also to the event in charge members Ms. Shafna Basheer, Ms. Saritha, Ms. Riddhi Gondalya, Mr. Parthkumar Naranbhai.
