On the glorious 61st anniversary of National Day and the historic 31st anniversary of Liberation, Bhavans Smart Indian School extends its congratulations and felicitations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al- Ahmad Al- Jaber Al- Sabah, to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al- Ahmad Al- Jaber Al- Sabah, and the honourable people of Kuwait.

The students of SIS celebrated the days with great pomp and joy on 23rd of February in the presence of our respected Sponsor Mr. Ali Judiyan Al-Rasheedi, Chairman Bhavans Middle East Mr. N.K Ramachandran Menon, Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Vice Principal Mrs. Albin Daisy, KG Supervisor Mrs.Rajni Menon, HoDs and teachers.

 The festivities began with the release of the white dove by the leaders of the institution to proclaim the message of peace and brotherhood.

The chief guest of the day, Mr. Ali Judiyan Al-Rasheedi hoisted the Kuwait flag, which was followed by the Kuwait National Anthem. The celebrations continued  with the recital of the holy Quran and with short speeches of gratitude, dances, skits and songs. The Primary and Middle wing students performed a wonderful drill on the roller skates displaying the flag of Kuwait. The children dressed in the colours of the Kuwait flag, gave the entire show a very festive look.

To double the merriment of the day, the school also celebrated the birthday of Mr. Ali Judiyan Al-Rasheedi, by cutting a cake. Children sang birthday song both in English and Arabic, which was well appreciated. Chairman Mr.N.K. Ramachandran Menon honoured him with a portait of Mr. Rasheedi drawn by a student.

Under Mrs. Amira’s guidance and the Arabic Department teachers, the students of the Middle Wing put up a mesmerising show on the occasion. The show enthralled the audience as the students danced to the tunes of foot-tapping Kuwaiti songs. The program ended with a speech from the school Principal, Mr Mayesh Iyer, who also sang a peppy Arabic song to thank the sponsor. He also thanked the coordinators of the event Ms. Amira, Ms. Bhavitha Bright and Mr. Jogy George for making this event a memorable one.
