Bhavans Smart Indian School is recognized for their work on environmental awareness as it bagged the award in a unique event organized by Climate Action Project and Cartoon Network. It was launched by US based non-profit ‘Take Action Global’ involving more than 2.7 million teachers and students across 146 countries. It was conducted in collaboration with WWF and NASA.

We are the only Indian school from Kuwait to bag the ‘Climate Action Project School of Excellence’ honour. The award winners were announced during an eight-hour online event live-streamed at the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow. The speakers at the event included Britain’s Prince William, former President of Seychelles James Alix Michel, Princess Marie – Esmeralda of Belgium, Richard Davis from Nasa, Juan Celis Garcia from UN Environment programme and climate activist Elizabeth Wathuti among other leaders, scientists and activists.

We are extremely grateful to the Climate Action Project TEAM for this brilliant initiative and opportunity to contribute to environment conservation and feel privileged to be honoured with the School of Excellence Award. This is evidence of our commitment toward Education for sustainable development.

It’s not just a one-time recognition but rather the beginning of many opportunities that will span the remaining year through. This gives us great joy and a feel of achievement in its true sense. All the efforts taken for being a part of such a noble cause of climate action was the outcome of the hard work put in by our students and the teachers which started a year back with submitting projects related to climate change and the remedial measures. We have been awarded with a digital badge and a certificate as a token of appreciation and recognition for all the activities done towards protection of mother earth in the school.
