“Every nurse was drawn to nursing because of a desire to care, to serve, or to help” Christina Feist – Heilmeier. International Nurse’s Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. ICN (International Council of Nurses) celebrates this event to increase the public awareness about the nursing and nurse’s contribution towards the healthcare innovation. The theme for the 2021 resource is Nurses: A Voice to Lead – A vision for future healthcare. Kindergarten wing of Bhavans Smart Indian School & Jack and Jill organized an event for the International Nurse’s Day on 10 May 2021. Little champions of Bhavans celebrated the Nurse’s Day reverently. Special theme-based activities were conducted by the teachers. All the little kids participated in the activities enthusiastically. With lots of respect and prayers LKG and UKG kids had made nurse’s cap and wore the caps. Their appearance was full of reminiscences of nurses and everyone was exhilarated by their appearance. Through their activities the little budding stars got an opportunity to acknowledge the nurses and how they played a role in healing humanity, that too this pandemic times. This must have been a great event making every student understand that nurses are sacrificing their own lives for saving our lives. Ms. Rajni Menon, KG Supervisor, stated that Nurses are in unique positions to serve the world maintaining the health and wellness of us through all the aspects like pychisocially, socially. We should respect and thank them for they are the key of achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
