Bhavan’s SIS celebrates Eid Mubarak and Eid al-Fitr

The holy month of Ramadan during which Muslims all over the world immerse themselves in fasting and reading the Quran and Duas, is followed by the much awaited Eid al-Fitr. “Festival of the Breaking of the Fast”, Eid al-Fitr marks the beginning of the tenth month in the Islamic calendar.

The kindergarten wing of Bhavan’s Smart Indian School celebrated Eid al-Fitr in the school auditorium.The festivities began with children colouring beautiful mosques and making handmade lanterns.  It was trailed by a special assembly by the kids of KG2 Gemini and Sagittarius. They started off wishing everybody Eid Mubarak through a song which the tiny tots audience enjoyed thoroughly. A skit which depicted the importance of fasting and the rituals followed during Ramadan was well accepted by the crowd. The next performers were rapturously applauded as they danced gracefully to yet another foot-tapping number. All the show stealers of the assembly made their teachers proud when they executed their part without any flaws. On the whole, the essence of the festival was brilliantly captured by the students of the kindergarten wing and the atmosphere was filled with happiness and delight.

Keeping in mind that the vacations were close at hand, the children also gave a few tips on how to spend their holidays productively which was acknowledged by the audience with a roaring applause. The supervisor of the Kindergarten wing Ms.Rajni Menon congratulated the students for their wonderful performance and wished all of them Happy Holidays, reminding the children to make their vacation fruitful by spending their time effectively in company of family and books.

Eid al-Fitr – a joyous celebration in commemoration of breaking the fast at the end of the holy month of Ramadan was celebrated and honoured in Bhavan’s Smart Indian School with delight and festive activities. The moments of Ramadan brought serene reflection of happy time spent with families and neighbors. The refreshing time of pleasant memories had inscribed charity, dignity and service to Almighty in a profound sense. Keeping these moments afresh, the school conducted activities to facilitate the students in understanding the importance of the celebration as well to safeguard the significant celebration. The vibrant children highlighted the day by reading out the importance of Eid al-Fitr. The students of grade 8 danced to the wonderful songs in honour of the day. The activities took place in the open assembly where all the staff and students enjoyed the time of togetherness. Love was truly seen spreading in this pious observance.
