When life gives you waste, make the best out of it.
Our children live in an age where things are discarded without a second thought, only to buy and accumulate more than we often need. With the environmental crisis our world is facing, it’s time to make an effort to change this. So, why not encourage our children to take this forward was the thought behind this special day, as imparting such values earlier in life is always better.
The Kindergarten wing of Bhavans Smart Indian School and Jack and Jill Preschool kept aside a day to make children realise the value of 3R’s. Teachers explained to the tinytots that reduce, reuse and recycle – all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. They were introduced to recycling by making a rocket out of tissue paper roll on 20th October 2021. This activity made them realise that waste isn’t waste until we waste it.
They were thrilled and amazed when the boring looking tissue paper roll transformed into a colourful little rocket. Children participated in the activity with great enthusiasm and took the rocket home with great pride.
The activity helped to enhance not only the creativity but also helped them appreciate the importance of recycling and reusing waste material. It was indeed a day spent well.
