Bhavan’s SIS holds Annual Art Competition

Art is a unique expression of beauty which takes a form of poem without words. Bhavan’s Smart Indian School invited the budding artists of grades 1 – 9 to participate in Annual Art Competition on 10th April, 2019 on the school premises. The competition was held under the initiative of the Department of Art in view of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birthday commemoration as proposed by Indian Embassy. The topics were given according to their grades and the children participated enthusiastically. The preparations for the event had begun a week ago starting from motivating the students to participate and arranging the art materials needed for the competition. Grades 1 and 2 were asked to draw on the theme of nature, grades 3 and 4 were given the task of doing pencil shading of Gandhiji’s portrait, the serene and historical place of Sabarmati Ashram was given to grades 5 and 6 to tap their artistic skill. ‘Clean India’ and the significant movement in the history of India’s Freedom named Swadeshi Movement were assigned to the students of grades 7 to 9 and it proved as a way to enlarge their understanding of history through art. The students’ marvelous painting paved way to bag prizes. They were lauded by the school Principal in the open assembly and encouraged the students to participate and expand their imagination.
