Bhavans Smart Indian School celebrated the 73rd Republic Day of India with a great éclat. The occasion became even more special as it is the 75th year of our Independence, celebrated as “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The pandemic might have restricted our celebrations, but it did not dampen our patriotic spirits.

The flag was unfurled by Principal Mahesh Iyer at a grand ceremony held at the school premises at 8 a.m. Vice Principal Albin Daisy, KG Supervisor Rajni Menon and other teachers were also present on the occasion.

Principal Mahesh Iyer read out the Republic Day message of President Ram Nath Kovind at the function. He called on all to dedicate themselves to the growth and progress of the country. He also reminded that every citizen is committed to safeguarding the integrity and pluralism of the country.

The program then unfurled to the ensuing artistic activities of the students and teachers with patriotic songs and dances.

At the meeting, awards were presented virtually to the winners of the school’s annual sports day 2022.

The kindergarten wing had its celebrations on 25th January uniquely and colourfully. Teachers spoke to the kids and made them aware of our national symbols and our national leaders. They were encouraged to watch the republic day parade and tableaus and cheer our national heroes. The tiny tots were all dressed in white, looking bright and happily showing off their tricolour rosette, which they made themselves as a part of their craft activity.

Students, parents and the teaching community enthusiastically participated in the simple but proud event, which was organized virtually due to the prevailing Covid situation. Ms. Prekasha Rajapura and Ms. Hiral coordinated the function.
